CONNECT With A Ministry

OUR Ministries

We believe, in the words of the Papal Encyclical, Deus Caritas Est, that the love of neighbor is a path that leads to the encounter with God, and that closing our eyes to our neighbor also blinds us to God. Indeed, the Church is a Community of Love. The entire activity of the Church is an expression of a love that seeks the integral good of humanity. Love is the service that the Church carries out in order to attend constantly to humanities sufferings and needs. Love of neighbor, grounded in the love of God, is first and foremost a responsibility of each individual member of the faithful, and as a community the Church must practice charity. Love thus needs to be organized if it is to be an ordered service to the community.

Our vision is that every member of the parish will be involved in a corporal or spiritual work of mercy and have a forum to reflect on these experiences in the light of scripture so as to grow in Christian discipleship. Discipleship of Jesus, if it is true and deep, must eventually flow into ministry, the Latin word for service.

MINISTRY DIRECTORY

  • faith formation

We are called to grow daily in our knowledge and love of Jesus by allowing him to walk more closely with us in every dimension of our lives. The risen Christ does not reveal himself to the whole world, but to his disciples. The gospels are full of stories where Jesus takes his disciples apart to be with him, to be formed by his very presence, example, and instruction. Led by the Spirit of the Risen Lord, the members of Santiago parish have numerous opportunities at all age levels to learn from the Master.

  • liturgical ministries

Liturgy is a sacred work of worship and service by the People of God. All the faithful, summoned by the Holy Spirit, are called to full, active and conscious participation at the Mass. By virtue of baptism, members of the parish, called and sustained in their ministry by Christ himself, assume roles in the liturgy.

  • parish life ministries

A Parish is big family composed of all who gather in congregation. As a family, we care about the spiritual well-being of one another. The various ministries in our Parish are ways to connect, belong, and give, all to serve a common good. Be a part of this great family!

  • prayer ministries

Prayer is a form of communication, a way of talking to God. Deepening our connection with Him as our prayer life grows. With different types of prayers such as; reflection, meditation, contemplation, adoration, and more, these ministries will help and guide to build that relationship with God.

"For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy."

    -St. Therese of Lisieux

  • service and community ministries

As our faith grows, we find it in our hearts as a religious duty to serve others. By performing various acts of service in our communities, a person's life can be greatly improved just through a simple act of kindness and lvoe from the person's heart. It is not only beneficial for the organization or person receiving the service, but it is also beneficial for the person who is partaking in this act of service.
